Submission Quick Guide

MPL Online Submission for Individual Physician or Surgeon
Use the MPL online submission tool for an individual physician or surgeon with up to 10 shared limit ancillaries and 5 shared limit entities. This is a two-step process.
Step one: Please send this application link to your client. This information will be required, as well as your client’s signature. Once step one is complete, you will receive an email containing a PDF with their responses. You will need to upload this PDF as part of step two.
Step two: Complete the MPL Online Submission in the Agent/Broker Portal.
Key capabilities include:
- Less manual data entry: After entering your client’s National Provider Identifier (NPI) number and date of birth, we will prefill as much of the new business submission as possible to reduce the amount of time you spend manually entering your client’s information.
- Faster Underwriting response time: Using this feature will speed up the new business submission process by getting key information to the assigned underwriter so they can follow up with you earlier and get the submission through to the quoting process quicker. You’ll also have better transparency of your submission status via your dashboard in the Agent/Broker Portal.
- Enhanced security for your submissions: Securely upload your client’s documents directly into the portal and eliminate potential cybersecurity issues by not having to send attachments through email.
For more in-depth information about this feature, we have a user guide for your reference. We will continue to build additional capabilities for this tool, including group submissions.
Online Quick Quote
This feature in the Agent/Broker Portal provides you with a premium indication in a matter of minutes.
Key capabilities include:
- Quote estimates for individual providers and groups (with 10 or fewer providers) across the full range of medical specialties.
- Estimates incorporate the maximum available claims-free discount, applicable program discount, and average scheduled credit for the primary state of practice.
- Personal and practice information are prepopulated using a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number or state medical license number.
- ZIP codes prepopulated when entering a prospect’s NPI number can be updated/changed, increasing the accuracy of premium indications.
- Print, email, or revise the estimate.
- Upload documents, such as The Doctors Company application for coverage, loss runs (if losses are reported on the application), and a certificate of insurance to generate a bindable quote.

Email Submission Inbox
You may send all admitted MPL submissions containing over 10 risks to TDCSubmissions@thedoctors.com. We encourage submissions of 10 or fewer risks to be submitted through the Quick Quote tool and individual physician/surgeon with up to 10 shared limit ancillaries and 5 shared limit entities through the MPL Online Submission tool in the Agent/Broker Portal.
With the new centralized submission inbox, there is a simplified process for handling each submission:
- Receipt: When a submission is sent to the new inbox, you will receive an automatic notification confirming we have received it.
- Logging and notification: Within a maximum of two business days, our Member Services team will enter the introductory submission details and assign the submission to a regional underwriter to complete the policy submission, and you will be copied on the email. At this point, the assigned underwriter and agent can communicate directly regarding the policy submission.
NOTE: The new inbox is for admitted risks only. Non-admitted and surplus lines risks should still be sent to TDC Specialty Underwriters at Submissions@tdcspecialty.com.
