Advance, Protect, Reward, Sell, Retain: The Tribute Plan Builds Business
The Tribute® Plan is a breakthrough financial benefit for our members—and a powerful sales and retention tool for you.
Unequaled by any other insurer, the Tribute Plan provides medical professionals with a significant financial award when they retire from the practice of medicine. Since 2007, more than 15,000 members have received a Tribute award, and the highest distribution to date is $264,808.
We'll match your clients’ loyalty rewards balances
With our Tribute Plan Matching Program, we’ll match the funding of your eligible clients’ loyalty rewards balances when they switch to The Doctors Company. To find out more, contact your underwriter or business development representative.
Our members are looking forward to receiving their awards
Many of our members have told us they are already planning how to spend their Tribute awards. And their excitement increases as their Tribute balances grow every year. These balances will continue to rise and will become increasingly effective as a business building and retention tool.
The importance of Tribute for business retention cannot be overstated. Our latest Member Experience Survey shows that those members who know their Tribute balance have significantly higher loyalty and are highly likely to renew—perhaps until they retire with The Doctors Company.

How the Tribute Plan works
The Board of Governors sets aside significant funding for the express purpose of rewarding our members. This is the Tribute Plan loyalty pool. Members become eligible to receive their award when they reach age 55 or older, permanently retire from the practice of medicine, and have five or more years of continuous coverage with The Doctors Company on the day they retire. Tribute award balances are also eligible for distribution in the event that a member dies or becomes permanently disabled while insured by The Doctors Company. Eligibility requirements for members who were previously insured by a company acquired by The Doctors Company may vary. Please see the Tribute Plan Frequently Asked Questions for details.
