The Doctors Company Has Now Declared $500M in Dividends

The Doctors Company is returning approximately $14.3 million in premium dividends in 2025, bringing the total amount of dividends declared to date to $500 million.

Our generous multiyear dividend program returns premiums to qualifying members for better-than-expected loss experience. Dividends of up to 10 percent were approved by The Doctors Company Board of Governors for eligible members in the following states: Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming. Members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons® and members of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery may also receive a dividend, depending on their eligibility.

Eligible members will receive this year’s dividend on their annual premium for policy renewals between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027.

APC and Dental Business Will Be Credited Toward Our 2027 Agent/Broker Travel Incentive

With the changes to the eligibility requirements for the 2027 Agent/Broker Travel Incentive, new business for the advanced practice clinician (APC) and dental (DEN) programs with policy effective dates of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, will both be credited toward earning the travel incentive (and is not capped) for next year's trip to Lake Como, Italy. Here’s how it works:

Multiplier Calculation

For new APC and DEN business, premiums above $50,000 will be multiplied by two times (x2) their value. For the purpose of calculating progress toward the new business goal of $1,250,000, which earns a guaranteed spot for the trip to Lake Como, Italy, the amount of the premiums earned will be doubled. However, agents/brokers must generate at least $50,000 in new APC and DEN business for the multiplier to apply. For example:

APC and DEN NB Premium Credit Applied Total Applied Towards Incentive (Not Capped)
$50,000 x2 $100,000
$250,000 x2 $500,000
$350,000 x2 $700,000

Bob White Wins Prominent Award and Is Interviewed by Medical Economics

On May 14 in Philadelphia, TDC Group President Robert E. White, Jr., was presented the 2026 Award of Excellence in Honor of Peter Sweetland by the Medical Professional Liability Association (MPL Association). The award recognizes his outstanding contributions and longtime dedication to the MPL insurance community, healthcare professionals, and the MPL Association.

Bob was also featured in a video interview, “What’s Driving Malpractice Rate Changes in 2026?”, where he explains in detail how malpractice insurance rates are being shaped by a mix of legal, economic, and healthcare industry pressures. Bob also delivers an important message for physicians and healthcare leaders that while claims frequency may be declining, claims severity continues to rise—driven by social inflation, higher indemnity costs, and nuclear verdicts.

We encourage you to share this news with your clients as it reinforces TDC Group’s position as a trusted resource on key industry issues.

50th Anniversary Blowout Party Planned for In-Person Annual Agents and Brokers Meeting

This is a very exciting year for The Doctors Company, and we look forward to celebrating several milestones with our Chairman’s Circle and Key Agents at our Annual Agents and Brokers Meeting. We are going all out this year and doing something we’ve never done before to make this a special event for everyone in attendance: We’ll be hosting a 50th anniversary gala at the CIA at Copia in Napa that will include several surprises and a wonderful, festive dinner.

And of course, the annual meeting will also feature insightful presentations from company executives and industry experts, and guests will be given the opportunity to network with their peers and TDC Group representatives and take part in leisurely activities such as wine tasting or golf.

As a reminder, we have changed the dates of our Annual Agents and Brokers Meeting to Tuesday, September 1, 2026, through Thursday, September 3, 2026. The venue at the Silverado Resort in Napa, California, will remain the same.

Questions about the event or qualifying criteria to become a Chairman’s Circle or Key Agency may be directed to your Business Development representative of the Events Team at events@thedoctors.com.
