Dividend Announced for 2026

The Doctors Company is returning approximately $14.3 million in premium dividends in 2026, bringing the total amount of dividends declared to date to $500 million.

Eligible members* will receive a dividend on their policy renewals between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027. As in previous years, members must practice in a dividend-eligible state or belong to a select medical society to receive dividends.

Your renewal commissions are calculated on gross premium before dividends are applied.

Members in the states listed below are eligible to receive a member dividend of up to 10 percent. Members of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons® (ASPS®) may also receive a dividend.

Members of The Doctors Company will first be eligible for dividends three years after joining. The same three-year period applies to members added to groups.

Dividend distribution eligibility is based on practice location or participation in a qualifying medical specialty society:

  • If an insured is a member of the AAO-HNS or ASPS and does not practice in a qualified state, they will receive the medical specialty society dividend percentage.
  • If an insured practices in a qualified state, they will receive the state dividend percentage.
  • If both situations apply, the insured will receive the respective AAO-HNS or ASPS dividend percentage instead of the qualified state percentage.

Please note: Medical specialty society members in California will not receive a dividend, and accounts with negotiated profit-sharing or retrospective rating arrangements are not eligible. Also, experience rated accounts are not eligible for a dividend.

*Applies to full-time members.
