Travel Incentive Qualifiers to Dine at Greece’s Best Kept Secret
It goes without saying that Athens, Greece, is a tourist hotspot. But the qualifiers of the 2025–2026 Agent/Broker Travel Incentive will have earned the right to feel just like a local for one of the trip’s most decadent evenings.
Along the Apollo Coast—now known as the Athenian Riviera—and just south of Athens, is a beautiful sunken natural spa almost completely hidden behind Poseidonos Avenue that is known to locals and insiders, yet often overlooked by most tourists traveling to Athens.
Surrounded by limestone cliffs and fed by fresh thermal sea and spring water, Vouliagmeni Lake is a hidden gem set in a serene, calm environment removed from the hustle and bustle of nearby Athens. Vouliagmeni Lake is steeped in rich geological history and believed to have formed over 2,000 years ago when the roof of a cave system collapsed during an earthquake. Its warm, mineral-rich waters are known for providing therapeutic benefits and hold a steady temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. The emerald lake is also home to the Garra rufa (doctor fish) that nibble at waders’ dry skin as they soak and reap the benefits of the gentle exfoliation.
The celestial backdrop complimented by majestic geological formations give off a magical and mysterious energy for its visitors. Along with an underground cave, Vouliagmeni Lake has the largest underground tunnel in the world—nearly half a mile—and a complex, unexplored network of labyrinths. The cave that occupies most of the lake, its strong currents, and its unknown depth fuel stories told about the lake's fairy. Legend has it that a fairy lives in the lake's depths and will try to capture young divers who try to enter the underwater cave. To date, eight divers have lost their lives in an attempt to explore this mystical lake.
Vouliagmeni Lake has earned formal recognition for its extraordinary natural significance and is officially designated as a natural monument, protected under the Natura 2000 network, emphasizing its ecological importance. The lake is also classified as a Site of Outstanding Natural Beauty by the Ministry of Culture because of its unique environmental and cultural value. These protections ensure that Vouliagmeni Lake and its tranquil surroundings are preserved for generations in the future.

And if you think Vouliagmeni Lake is gorgeous at daylight, it is just as magnificent under the stars while lit up at night. As the sun drops behind the hills and the mirror-like surface of the lake turns to glass, the setting becomes dreamlike.
The Doctors Company has booked an exclusive group dinner lakeside—complete with tables under open skies and dimmed lighting for intimate ambience—for guests to indulge in Mediterranean flavors in a relaxed but refined atmosphere. There’s something truly special about dining at Vouliagmeni Lake. Its breezy, laid-back vibe blends romance, myth, and mystery to wow anyone fortunate to take part in the experience.
