Application and Submission Process Improvements Underway
The Doctors Company is committed to improving your ease of doing business with us and to helping you efficiently service your clients. We are excited to announce two key developments that should make the process of applying for professional liability insurance coverage better for you and your clients.
New Agent-Client Application Collaboration Feature in the Agent/Broker Portal
As we continue to make the transition from our legacy policy system to our new technology platform, we are listening to agent feedback and prioritizing suggestions to enable capabilities that you’ve requested.
We recently implemented a new Agent-Client Application Collaboration feature in the Quotes and Applications section of the advanced practice clinician (APC) and dental platforms to give agents the ability to take ownership of their clients’ APC and dental applications for coverage with The Doctors Company.
Benefits of the Agent-Client Application Collaboration feature include:
- Applicants (clients) can seek assistance with a simple request by clicking “Contact Agent.”
- The agent will be able to collaborate with the client and take control of the application.
- The agent can then review or fill out the application on behalf of the client.
- The agent can pass back the application to the client to have them make the policy purchase payment.
A user guide is available in the APC coverage information and dental resources sections of the Agent/Broker Area of our website. For questions, contact your Business Development representative or Agency Support at (800) 421-2368, extension 1391, or agencysupport@thedoctors.com.
Singular Inbox for All Admitted Submissions Launches October 7th
In response to feedback from our agency partners, we are consolidating our Region I, Region II, and Region III submission email inboxes and establishing a single, centralized email inbox for all submissions for admitted medical professional liability (MPL) coverage nationwide.
With the new centralized submission inbox, there will be a simplified process for handling each submission:
- Receipt: When a submission is sent to the new inbox, you will receive an automatic notification confirming we have received it.
- Logging and Notification: Within a maximum of two business days, our Member Services Team will enter the introductory submission details and assign the submission to a regional underwriter to complete the policy submission—you will be copied on the email. At this point, the assigned underwriter and agent can communicate directly regarding the policy submission.
Beginning Monday, October 7, please send all admitted MPL submissions to TDCSubmissions@thedoctors.com.
All submissions to regional inboxes after October 7 will be automatically forwarded to the new centralized inbox.
NOTE: The new inbox is for admitted risks only. Non-admitted and surplus lines risks should still be sent to TDC Specialty Underwriters at Submissions@tdcspecialty.com.
