Growing Market Opportunity for Advanced Practice Clinician Business
Nurse practitioners are now ranked number one and physician assistants number three among top 2025 jobs. Their roles are recognized for growth, flexibility, and vital impact on patient care, according to U.S. News & World Report.
With the increase of advanced practice clinicians (APCs) in the delivery of healthcare comes a growing market opportunity for you, and we offer an enhanced commission structure for APC submissions.
All agent and broker commissions will mirror the terms of their contracted physician and surgeon commission rates, with the APC premium applicable to eligible bonus commission and incentive programs, which includes our Agent/Broker Travel Incentive. The APC premium is factored into the Key Agency and Chairman’s Circle qualification.
As the APC professions grow in both popularity and practice scope, the importance of tailored malpractice insurance has never been greater. TDC Group proudly supports your APC clients with affordable, top-tier coverage.

Exclusive to your clients who are members of The Doctors Company, our Risk Management Fundamentals for the Practice Manager program has 16 on-demand lessons addressing high-risk areas for financial loss from lawsuits, regulatory noncompliance, injuries, or accidents, as well as areas known to improve patient safety and quality of care.
The complimentary program is designed for both clinical and nonclinical professionals who are new to practice management or those who would like a refresher on how to apply the fundamentals of patient safety and risk management in the office-based setting of a medical or dental practice. The lessons are self-paced by the participant and will guide the practice manager through assessing the practice and developing an improvement plan based on practical strategies.
This exclusive member benefit can serve as a valuable retention and renewal tool. If you have clients who are interested in enrolling, they can receive online program access by contacting their assigned patient safety risk manager or calling Member Services at (800) 421-2368.
Grace Period for Your Clients Affected by Southern California Wildfires
Due to disruption to member medical practices from the Southern California wildfires, The Doctors Company will defer policy cancellations for nonpayment for 90 days for your impacted clients. The grace period is provided without interest or penalty to allow practitioners to care for patients and attend to their practices in the disaster’s aftermath.
Member Services will be happy to assist your clients. Members who have questions regarding their payments or premiums are invited to sign into their member account or call (800) 421-2368, and press 1 for Member Services.
New York Governor Vetoes Wrongful Death Bill
Once again, the collective voice of New York’s healthcare practitioners was heard in Albany as they registered their strenuous opposition to the highly controversial and short-sided wrongful death legislation.
On December 21, 2024, Governor Kathy Hochul vetoed the proposal, due in large part to many of our members’ and your New York clients’ communication with her about the detrimental impact the proposal would have on access to healthcare.
After months of advocacy work, Governor Hochul sent a strong message that no matter how well intended the proposed law was, the legislation could “risk the financial well-being of our healthcare system, including those hospitals that serve disadvantaged communities.”
The Doctors Company fully expects to see a similar proposal introduced this spring. Nevertheless, New York’s healthcare practitioners have demonstrated the power of unity and the ability to shape public discourse. We value your New York clients’ participation in the grassroots efforts that stopped this bill, and we will value their engagement in future action alerts.
Keep Your Clients Up to Date on Our Advocacy Efforts
In today’s healthcare environment, doctors, medical practices, APCs, and health systems need an advocate—a resolute voice loud enough to be heard. TDC Group is relentlessly committed to supporting medical liability reform and to safeguarding access to patient care.
Our Government Relations Advocacy Update summarizes legislative and judicial actions that impact medical liability and the practice of medicine. The latest issue highlights the results of the 2024 election and reflects on TDC Group’s engagement in the election.
