Leading social media healthcare platform KevinMD.com recently published “Mitigating Risks from Care During COVID-19,” an article by Richard E. Anderson, MD, FACP, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Doctors Company and TDC Group. In his article, Dr. Anderson discusses the impact of delayed care that took place during the COVID-19 pandemic and notes, “It’s not yet clear whether there will be a surge in claims related to COVID-19, but clinicians will be well-served by remaining mindful of the new liability risks created by deferred, delayed, or disrupted care.”
In a recent episode of The Podcast by KevinMD, Dr. Anderson also shared his expertise on “Artificial Intelligence, COVID-19, and the Future of Pandemics” with moderator Kevin Pho, MD. Dr. Anderson discusses how artificial intelligence (AI) could be used to create consistent recommendations during a pandemic, how AI should be viewed as a consultant to clinicians, and why it is important to realize the potential of AI in healthcare, among other pandemic-related topics.
