The Doctor’s Advocate | Second Quarter 2021
2021 Foundation Updates
The Doctors Company Foundation works to support patient safety research and educational training. As the Foundation begins its 2021 grant cycle, here are updates on recent news and activities:
- The Foundation’s 2021 grant cycle looks to surpass the competitive character of last year’s cycle, with nearly 70 Letters of Intent submitted by the March 22 deadline, doubling those received in 2020. The Foundation’s Grant Review Committee will evaluate the submissions and select a limited number of projects to move forward through the grantmaking process. Those selected will be asked to provide a detailed application, and the Foundation’s Board of Directors will make final funding decisions during its August meeting.
- The Foundation Board welcomes new Treasurer/Secretary TC Wilson. Wilson joined The Doctors Company as its first chief investment officer in 2017. He is responsible for the development, management, and oversight of the company’s strategic investment program. He also ensures that overall investment and growth objectives are met in support of the company’s underwriting profile and operating results.
