Mike Tungate is president of The Doctors Agency of Michigan, which specializes in the medical professional liability insurance needs of Michigan physicians. He is committed to providing customized advice and working directly with physician clients and groups to ensure appropriate insurance coverage.
Prior to starting his agency, Mike acquired 23 years of experience in medical malpractice claims, gaining a keen understanding of the litigation process. He is sensitive to the emotional impact of litigation on the physician and understands the importance of maintaining the physician’s professional reputation. He has worked closely with physicians and defense attorneys in conducting investigations, interviewing physicians and experts, and attending trials, mediations, and settlement conferences.
Mike received his bachelor of science in business administration from Central Michigan University, with a major in finance, and holds several insurance designations, including the prestigious Charter Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). He is a licensed Michigan agent in property and casualty, as well as excess and surplus lines, and is licensed as a Michigan insurance adjuster.
