The Agent’s Advocate | November 2025

Behind the Coverage: Meet Our Events Team and New Team Leader

For the final 2025 issue of The Agent’s Advocate, we think this is an opportune time to introduce you to our National Business Development (NBD) Events Team that works constantly behind the scenes to design and shape the stellar experiences we share with our agents/brokers, your clients, and the healthcare community.

As you’ll read, their work extends far beyond logistics. In this relationship-based industry, our Events Team is a significant pillar of our brand experience for our members and business partners. They design experiences that bring our values to life, showcase our expertise, and help deepen the relationships that fuel our mutual success. As hosts to you and your clients, our Events Team treats every interaction as an opportunity to make a lasting brand impression on our guests.

Brief History of the Events Team

The Events Team was established by Laura Kline, MBA, CPCU, CIC, Regional Operating Officer of The Doctors Company’s Northeast Region and TDC Group Senior Vice President of Business Development, in 2018 while The Doctors Company was growing significantly and there was a need to have a centralized Events Team that assured our brand was represented consistently and uniformly throughout all event experiences.

Johana Moreno, MBA, was serving as the Senior Manager of Agency Support at the time and had vast experience handling agent/broker events, including the Annual Agents and Brokers Meeting since 2007, and was recruited to create and develop the Events Team as a key function within NBD.

Looking ahead to 2026, Laura has now added leadership of the Events Team to the roles and responsibilities of NBD Assistant Vice President Kendra Heredia, who brings a fresh perspective and exciting new ideas to the team.

New Events Team Leader

With more than 20 years of experiential design management, Kendra brings extensive experience to the team. Kendra joined The Doctors Company in August 2021 as a Director of Business Development in Austin, Texas. In this role, she had broker management responsibilities and was part of The Doctors Company’s Client Relationship Manager team, supporting large, complex, and custom accounts regardless of distribution channel. In April 2023, Kendra was promoted to The Doctors Company’s Napa-based NBD team as the Assistant Vice President.

In addition to her NBD duties and engagement in Business Development–led intiatives, Kendra has revitalized our Partner Education Series, giving newer producers and account managers the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of medical professional liability insurance and strengthen their partnerships with The Doctors Company and TDC Group. She works with the Napa-based NBD team from her office in Austin, but she is a frequent visitor to Napa.

Johana Moreno transitioned from Agency Support to the Events Team full time as Senior Manager in 2018, and then began the work of developing the strategy for the Events Team and the hiring and development of staff.

Now Director, Johana is responsible for managing the team, all events and their associated day-to-day tasks, vendor relationships, and budgeting and negotiating contracts. She reports directly to Kendra Heredia. Johana has nearly 20 years of experience with The Doctors Company, having started her career in Marketing and holding roles as a Project Manager and various roles within Agency Support serving agents and brokers.

Caitlin Dupree

Caitlin Dupree joined The Doctors Company in 2021, starting as an Events Planner, then promoting to Senior Events Planner in 2023, and previously worked at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Copia as a Manager of Planning and Logistics in their Strategic Initiatives Department. Caitlin supports all events designed by the team but takes the lead in managing and hosting all of the webinars, national conferences, and the international Agent/Broker Travel Incentive trips. She was instrumental in helping the Events Team pivot from in-person meetings to hybrid and virtually held meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic, and then returning to planning and executing live events after the pandemic eased up.

Kristina Teotico Image

Kristina Teotico joined the Events Team in 2022 as the Senior Events and Conferences Coordinator and is essential in the planning and execution of regional and local events. She manages all of the advanced practice clinician (APC) conferences, lending support in each of the events and ensuring a critical detail is never missed. Kristina also supports the team administratively, keeping the team organized and managing event files and archival data.

With more than four decades of experience planning company events, these seasoned veterans take a meticulous approach to every single detail so that each event is unique and memorable. The events include conferences, webinars, national and regional agent/broker and member meetings, trainings, and the biggest of all—international Agent/Broker Travel Incentive trips.

Below is an overview of all of the dots that must be connected by the Events Team to put on a successful event and experience.

Scope of Events Team Work

  • Stakeholders and events management: Meet with key stakeholders and manage committee meetings to understand the vison and align the goals of the event.
  • Planning: Establish the timeline, location, logistics, and budget.
  • Logistics: Plan and facilitate the coordinating of the event, including compiling and managing guest lists, RSVPs, presentation materials, marketing materials, catering, entertainment, transportation, gifting, and décor.
  • Vendor and venue: Research, select, and negotiate contracts with venues, caterers, and other service providers.
  • Onsite management: Oversee and manage on-site preparations and production.
  • Budgeting: Create the event budget and manage all expenditures.

What to Expect From the Events Team in 2026

Next year, the Events Team is aiming to level up event experiences, boost agent/broker and member engagement, and reinforce the value we bring to you and your clients by accomplishing the following endeavors.

  • Create experiences that inspire confidence: Whether hosting an Executive Advisory Board Meeting, coordinating a national agent/broker meeting, or supporting a specialty-focused summit, the team ensures every event reflects our spirit of providing the best imaginable service. Their objective is simple: make every attendee feel important, informed, and connected. From thoughtful hospitality touches to exceptional on-site execution, the Events Team cultivates the kind of experience that strengthens brand loyalty and positions TDC Group as the partner of choice.
  • Support executives and Business Development: Events are a powerful catalyst for growth, and the team collaborates closely with National Business Development and the strategic business units of TDC Group—The Doctors Company, TDC Specialty Underwriters, and Healthcare Risk Advisors—to support our distribution goals. Their thorough planning and execution creates high-impact environments where you and your clients can engage with our leaders, gain insights from our experts, and explore client solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Showcase our expertise: A major competitive advantage for TDC Group lies in the depth of our knowledge across underwriting, claims, patient safety and risk management, and advocacy. The Events Team brings this expertise forward through thoughtfully curated educational sessions, advisory forums, and executive-level conversations. They transform technical insights into engaging experiences, helping our partners understand the value and innovation behind their work.
  • Drive operational excellence: Behind every flawless event is a disciplined process. The team manages planning timelines, vendor partnerships, budgeting, communications, and run-of-show execution with precision. They also collaborate enterprise-wide to ensure alignment with our brand, regulatory expectations, and best imaginable service standards.
  • Measuring impact for continuous improvement: Our Events Team captures input and insights from every experience, measuring campaign efforts, attendance, satisfaction, engagement, and return on investment (ROI). These analytics help us refine our approach each time so that we can deliver meaningful value to our business partners and members.

Speaking of feedback, here’s what some attendees have said about events we held in 2025:

“It is always a favorite event of my year. TDC is so smooth with the communications and so generous with the event. Thank you.”

“Another great opportunity to build relationships.”

“The outdoor events were great . . . dinner at the winery was a nice treat! Kudos to your events and planning teams.”

“This proved to be valuable time spent.”

“The event was great, very well planned, and time well spent with the TDC team members.”

As we continue to grow our national presence and strengthen our relationships throughout the healthcare landscape, the role of our Events Team becomes even more essential. Their dedication to creativity, innovation, responsiveness, and collaboration will help define the next chapter of TDC Group’s brand experience for our members and business partners—and we hope to see you at our next event!
