HIPAA Breach Notification Rules and Reporting: 2026 Edition
This course provides an orientation to the basic requirements of the Breach Notification Rules within the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). It covers how HIPAA defines a breach and breach exceptions and provides guidance on notification processes in the event of a breach. The course reviews common causes of HIPAA breaches and provides proactive measures to promote the privacy of protected health information, as well as a comprehensive list of resources.
