Occurrence policies provide coverage for incidents that happen during the policy period, regardless of when the claim is filed.
Claims-made policies only cover claims that are both made and reported while the policy is active, regardless of when the incident took place.
Most clinicians prefer occurrence policies due to their simplicity—if you’re insured at the time of the incident, you’re covered, even if the claim comes later. Claims-made coverage requires additional steps if you change jobs or let your policy lapse, such as purchasing tail coverage (also known as an extended reporting period).
Yes, we offer a range of liability limits to fit your practice and risk exposure. During the quoting process, you can select the coverage limit that works best for you and the way you practice. The most common limit is $1 million per claim / $3 million aggregate, but both higher and lower limits are available.
Yes, telemedicine is covered under our policies. We understand its growing role in modern healthcare and provide coverage with a few stipulations:
Yes, our policies cover cosmetic procedures such as wrinkle relaxers and injectable fillers. However, these procedures must not make up more than 50 percent of your overall practice.
While our professional liability coverage is designed to support most clinical settings, it currently does not cover work in nursing homes or correctional facilities. We understand that these environments have unique challenges, so if you work in these settings, we recommend reaching out to specialized providers that offer tailored coverage for these types of roles.
Coverage can often be secured within minutes using our streamlined online application. If your application requires further review by our Underwriting team, most applicants can expect coverage to be issued within a few business days.
Vicarious liability insurance protects you or your organization from claims arising from the actions of others—typically your employees or contractors. If you’re a practice owner or supervising clinician, this type of coverage helps ensure you’re protected against liability for services provided under your direction.
Medical director coverage applies only to the administrative responsibilities performed in that role. If the medical director also provides direct patient care, they’ll need a separate professional liability policy for those clinical duties, if they don’t already have one. Adding this coverage will prompt a brief review by our Underwriting team.
Yes, we offer group policies tailored for practices with multiple professionals. To explore options and get a custom quote for your team, please call us at (800) 780-9975.
