Seeking Entries for the 2016 Young Physicians Patient Safety Award
The Doctors Company Foundation invites all third- and fourth-year medical students to submit essays for the 2016 Young Physicians Patient Safety Award. Six winners will each receive $5,000, plus registration, travel, and accommodations to attend the Association of American Medical Colleges’ 2016 Integrating Quality Meeting.
“The Doctors Company Foundation believes it is important to make the culture of safety an integral part of the culture of medicine,” said Leona H. Rice, the Foundation’s executive director. “We hope that physician members of The Doctors Company who work with medical students will encourage them to submit an essay that shares their most instructional patient safety event during a clinical rotation that resulted in a personal transformation.”
The panel of judges is selected by the Lucian Leape Institute at the National Patient Safety Foundation. Entries are due by January 25, 2016. Get full eligibility and submission requirements at www.tdcfoundation.com/ypawards.
