Nutrition Science for Health and Longevity: What Every Physician Needs to Know

The Doctors Company’s mission to advance, protect, and reward the practice of good medicine inspires all we do. One of the many ways we fulfill this commitment is to share lessons, including good practices, that are gleaned from our analysis of malpractice claims across specialties. The critical role that patient education plays in improving healthcare outcomes is a reoccurring lesson in our studies. We are pleased to recommend the continuing medical education (CME) course Nutrition Science for Health and Longevity: What Every Physician Needs to Know. The course helps physicians better engage with patients about nutrition, to help improve their heart health and achieve better outcomes.

Nutrition Science is an interactive course designed to provide the knowledge and tools necessary to discuss nutrition with your patients. The four-module course covers these critical topics:

  • Why Does Nutrition Matter to Your Patients?
  • Dietary Fats and Patient Health
  • Helping Your Patients Understand Carbohydrates and Protein
  • Making Nutrition Counseling Work in a Busy Practice

The course is produced and offered by The Gaples Institute for Integrative Cardiology. A nonprofit organization, the Institute is committed to providing educational resources that empower healthcare professionals and the community to promote heart health through nutrition and lifestyle changes. In addition to this fee-based CME course, they offer certified courses for nurses, nurse practitioners, and dieticians to help better educate patients.

The Doctors Company does not have a financial relationship with The Gaples Institute of Integrative Cardiology and does not receive any funds for recommending its educational courses.
