Founded by California physicians in 1976 in response to a crisis in insurance affordability and availability, The Doctors Company remains fiercely committed to defending, protecting, and rewarding the practice of good medicine. Today, we are the largest national insurer of physician and surgeon medical liability, with more than 45,000 insured physicians, including 19,000 of your California colleagues.
With seven physicians on our 12-member Board of Governors—including Medical Director David B. Troxel, MD, a past president of the California Society of Pathologists—we possess unique insight into what pathologists need from their insurance company.
Our medical liability program offers CSP members a unique combination of coverage features, aggressive claims handling, industry-leading patient safety programs, and tangible economic benefits.
