With more than 12,000 members, the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) is the world’s largest organization representing specialists who diagnose and treat the ear, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck. Through its foundation, the Academy is dedicated to advancing the art and science of otolaryngology through state-of-the-art education, research, and learning. The Doctors Company's professional liability program for otolaryngologists and head-and-neck surgeons has been sponsored by AAO-HNS since 2003.
American Association of Neurological Surgeons
The American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) is a scientific and educational association devoted to the development of neurological surgery, with more than 5,400 members in the United States and Canada. All active AANS members are certified by the American Board of Neurosurgery. AANS became the exclusive sponsor of The Doctors Company in 2000. The Doctors Company offers the only AANS-sponsored medical malpractice insurance program.
American College of Physicians
The American College of Physicians (ACP) is the nation’s largest medical specialty society. ACP membership includes over 90,000 physicians in general internal medicine and related subspecialties, including cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, endocrinology, hematology, rheumatology, neurology, pulmonary disease, oncology, infectious diseases, allergy and immunology, and geriatrics. ACP became the exclusive sponsor of The Doctors Company in 2001. The Doctors Company offers ACP members a professional liability insurance program for internists and internal medicine subspecialists.
American College of Surgeons
The American College of Surgeons is a scientific and educational association of surgeons that was founded in 1913 to raise the standards of surgical practice and to improve the care of the surgical patient. The College is dedicated to the ethical and competent practice of surgery. It promotes the highest standards of surgical care through education of and advocacy for its Fellows and their patients.
The American College of Surgeons supports programs and policies that ensure patient access to high-quality, effective care provided by appropriately prepared and well-qualified surgical specialists of their choosing. The College represents all of the surgical specialties, and with more than 64,000 Fellows worldwide, the College is the largest organization of surgeons in the world. The American College of Surgeons began sponsoring The Doctors Company professional liability insurance program for Fellows of the College in 2002.
American Society of Plastic Surgeons
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) supports its members in their efforts to provide the highest quality patient care and maintain professional and ethical standards through education, research, and advocacy of socioeconomic and other professional activities. Of the societies representing plastic surgeons, ASPS is by far the largest and one of the most demanding. Its members must be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and reviewed by their peers. In order to become an ASPS member, a plastic surgeon must be certified by the ABPS medical board or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. ASPS has exclusively endorsed The Doctors Company's professional liability program for plastic surgeons since 1990.
California Society of Pathologists
Established in 1970, the California Society of Pathologists (CSP) was created to bring together pathologists and give them a voice in government, allowing them to relate problems and issues to legislative and regulatory policymakers. The Society also acts as a member resource for information and direction on legal and practice issues. CSP’s annual meeting, the California Seminars in Pathology, has achieved national status as one of the highest quality CME conferences for pathologists. Denver Medical Society
The Denver Medical Society (DMS) is the region’s oldest and largest Colorado county society of physicians. Founded in 1871, the Society now has nearly 1,600 members. The purpose of the Society is to provide an opportunity to come together professionally and to improve the well being of the profession as well as the health of the community. DMS physicians represent virtually every medical specialty as well as those in general practice. DMS has exclusively endorsed The Doctors Company since 1989.

The Montana Medical Association (MMA) is a professional society comprised of doctors of medicine and doctors of osteopathy which has as its purpose the promotion of the art and science of medicine and the protection of the health of the citizens of Montana. San Diego County Medical Society
Established in 1870, the San Diego County Medical Society (SDCMS) is the professional association of physicians in San Diego County—focusing on providing advocacy, benefits, communication and involvement for their 2,200 member physicians. The mission of SDCMS is to enhance satisfaction in the practice of medicine for member physicians and their patients. SDCMS gave its exclusive endorsement to The Doctors Company in 2005. The University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) is an alliance of the clinical enterprises of 87 academic health centers. While focusing on the clinical mission, UHC is mindful of and supports the research and education missions. As an idea-generating and information-disseminating enterprise, UHC helps members pool resources, create economies of scale, improve clinical and operating efficiencies, and influence the direction and delivery of health care. Wyoming Medical Society
The Wyoming Medical Society (WMS) was founded in 1903 to provide representation, advocacy, and service to Wyoming physicians. The Wyoming Medical Society strives to be an efficient, member-driven, responsive organization, capable of anticipating and responding swiftly to the changing health care environment. WMS serves its membership and their patients, and works to improve the health of Wyoming’s citizens. WMS has exclusively endorsed The Doctors Company since 1986.
