Napa, California—June 13, 2017—The Doctors Company, the nation’s largest physician-owned medical malpractice insurer, announced today the promotion of Tammy Clark to senior vice president and regional operating officer for the Northeast Region. Clark oversees Business Development, Claims, Direct Sales, Patient Safety/Risk Management, and Underwriting in 23 states. She reports to Chief Operating Officer Bill Fleming, who held the Northeast regional operating officer position previously.
Clark has served The Doctors Company for the past 16 years and brings a total of 29 years of professional liability experience to her new role. Her most recent position was vice president of underwriting for the Northeast Region, where she headed the Underwriting Department and was responsible for managing staff in three offices.
“Tammy has been serving as interim regional operating officer since January and has demonstrated outstanding leadership in that capacity and throughout her long tenure at The Doctors Company,” said Richard E. Clark attended Elizabethtown College and is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) as well as a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU).
