Hospitalists Provided Insight into Critical Issues in Video Playlist

Hospital Medicine Experts Are Featured Presenters in YouTube Series

Napa, California—June 5, 2013—Hospitalists facing critical issues can obtain insights from industry experts in a video playlist released today by The Doctors Company, the nation’s largest physician-owned medical malpractice insurer.

The playlist currently features four short videos:

  • “How to Create a Hospitalist Co-Management Program for Effective Patient Care” and “How to Define Hospitalist Co-Management Guidelines” by Liesbet Joris-Quinton, MD, FACP, SFHM, division head, hospital medicine, Scripps Clinic Medical Group, member, Hospitalist Advisory Board.
  • “How OB Hospitalists Reduce Liability Risks” and “OB Hospitalist Programs Lead to Measureable Improvements” by Mark N. Simon, MD, MMM, OB Hospitalist Group, member, Hospitalist Advisory Board.

Both physicians discussed these topics at a recent meeting of the Hospitalist Advisory Board, a group of thought leaders and practitioners from around the country who meet regularly with patient safety, claims, and underwriting representatives of The Doctors Company.

“We established the Hospitalist Advisory Board to identify and resolve current critical issues in hospital medicine,” said Robin Diamond, JD, RN, chief patient safety officer, The Doctors Company. “Sharing board member insights in this video series is an important part of our efforts to help improve patient safety and reduce liability risk.”
