New Health Care Reimbursement Models Detailed in Video
Already in Use, Latest Models Will Become Part of Everyday Practice
Napa, California—March 5, 2013—The Doctors Company, the nation’s largest medical malpractice insurer, announced today its video “New Health Care Reimbursement Models,” featuring James W. Saxton, Esq., of Pennsylvania. Saxton is chair of Stevens & Lee’s Health Care Litigation and Risk Management Group and co-chair of its Health Department.
In the video, Mr. Saxton describes how the latest health care reimbursement models—Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), fee for service, bundled payments or global payments, pay for performance or pay for certain metrics, and never events—will affect a physician’s everyday practice.
“In our Future of Health Care Survey, a majority of physicians said they were either undecided or needed more information about new health care delivery systems such as ACOs,” said Stacy Schultz, vice president of marketing for The Doctors Company. “Through access to key industry experts, The Doctors Company is uniquely positioned to provide a variety of perspectives on new health care models and their impact on physicians.”
