The Doctors Company Convenes Ohio Legal Summit

Ensuring the Industry’s Best Claims Defense for nearly 4,000 Ohio Physicians

Napa, California—August 23, 2010—The Doctors Company, the largest national insurer of physician and surgeon medical liability, convened its third annual Ohio Legal Summit on August 20 and 21.

The Doctors Company Legal Summits, now in their fifth year, are assemblies of top Ohio legal teams and expert national attorneys who share best practices on today’s medical liability issues and strategies. The Summits are central to The Doctors Company’s mission to provide the industry’s most aggressive claims defense by keeping leading authorities up-to-date on trends, plaintiff’s strategies, and best practices.

“The Doctors Company is fiercely committed to defending member physicians,” said David McHale, senior vice president and general counsel at The Doctors Company. “The Legal Summits demonstrate the company’s commitment to providing our physicians with a comprehensive defense that takes advantage of our understanding of issues both at a local and national level. It’s a perspective that belongs only to the Doctors Company.”

At the Ohio Summit, the most experienced defense attorneys met to discuss Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, electronic discovery, emerging trial strategies, social networking, and the potential for juror misconduct. The remaining 2010 Summits will be held in the West (California), and Southeast (Georgia) regions.
