The Doctors Company Appoints Ronald H. Wender, MD, FACA, to Board of Governors
Napa, California—May 6, 2009—The Doctors Company, the largest national insurer of physician and surgeon medical liability insurance, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ronald H. Wender, MD, FACA, to the company’s Board of Governors.
A Los Angeles-based anesthesiologist, Dr. Wender is co-chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he also serves as academic chair of the Cedars-Sinai anesthesia residency program and director of anesthesia training programs. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, fellow of the Federation of State Medical Boards, and former president of the Medical Board of California.
Prior to joining The Doctors Company’s Board of Governors, Dr. Wender served on the Board of Directors of SCPIE Holdings, Inc., where he held the positions of chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Government Compliance Committee. SCPIE, a leading provider of liability insurance in Southern California, was acquired by The Doctors Company in June 2008.

Dr. Wender received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. After interning at Los Angeles County-USC, he completed his residency at UCLA School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, and fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
