Dr. Richard E. Anderson Presents to the California State Bar
Anaheim, California—September 5, 2003—Richard E. Anderson, MD, FACP, presented a comprehensive evaluation of the current state of medical-legal reform in this country and the importance of effective tort reforms as a solution to the crisis facing doctors nationwide at the California State Bar’s Annual Meeting in Anaheim.
Dr. Anderson spoke on behalf of physicians and reiterated physician support for MICRA, the 1975 groundbreaking law that has kept malpractice rates among the lowest in the country without limiting an injured party’s access to the courts.
Dr. Anderson is chairman of the Board of Governors of The Doctors Company, the nation’s leading physician-owned medical malpractice insurer.
Created by the California state legislature in 1927, the State Bar is a public corporation within the judicial branch of government, serving as an arm of the California Supreme Court.
