Napa, California—June 26, 2015—The Doctors Company, the nation’s largest physician-owned medical malpractice insurer, has been recognized by the Insurance Marketing and Communications Association (IMCA) for its outstanding marketing and communications work, winning two Best in Show awards and one Award of Excellence. The company was among top insurance companies to receive awards at the recent IMCA Annual Conference in Nashville.
The Doctors Company received Best in Show for its integrated campaign “Mitigate Hacking and Data Breach Risks,” which alerts healthcare professionals to the growing threat of cyberattacks—51 percent of all data breaches occur in healthcare. This campaign includes educational videos, a downloadable report, and an infographic that provides expert tips on how to protect patient data and limit cybersecurity risk.
The company was also honored with a Best in Show award for its video series “Top Business Risks for Medical Practices.” Many medical practices are unaware of the business risks they face—risks that can lead to high defense costs and significant fines and penalties. The videos inform medical practices of the three main risks (data breaches, employment-related claims, and healthcare billing) and how to reduce their exposure.
In addition, an Award of Excellence was given to The Doctors Company for its “Ciao, Firenze” agent education campaign, which provided agents with materials to inform members and prospective members about the company’s innovative coverage solutions.
