The Doctors Company Donates $100,000 of Video Equipment to Help Health Care Education Program at Napa Valley College

Napa, California—February 21, 2008—The Doctors Company, the nation’s leading physician-owned medical malpractice insurer, recently donated video conferencing equipment valued at more than $100,000 to Napa Valley College, enabling the college to offer remote classes for the first time.

The donated equipment is being used to facilitate distance education classes in the college’s Respiratory Care Program and includes video cameras, screens, projectors, wireless microphone systems, LCD projectors, and VCR/DVD players.

“Napa Valley College is grateful for the generous donation by The Doctors Company. Students in Santa Rosa can now participate and interact with their instructor in Napa thanks to the video conferencing donation,” said Sonia Wright, Napa Valley College Foundation Executive Director.

"We’re pleased our donation helps educate students pursuing health care careers, as our mission is to advance, protect and reward the practice of good medicine,” said Leona Egeland Siadek, vice president of government relations and charitable contributions at The Doctors Company.

The company has donated office equipment and supplies to Computers for Schools, Napa County Office of Education, Napa County Legal Aid, Napa Valley Superintendent of Schools, and other local non-profit organizations.
