The Doctors Company Foundation Changes Leadership
Since its inception eight years ago, The Doctors Company Foundation has been led by Executive Director Leona Rice. Ms. Rice began working at The Doctors Company in 1998 in the Governmental Relations Department, eventually becoming senior vice president of Government Relations and Corporate Giving. During her tenure, Ms. Rice furthered the creation and expansion of The Doctors Company’s charitable programs—including The Doctors Company Foundation in 2008. She retired at the end of March.
Though Ms. Rice’s leadership will be missed by all, The Doctors Company Foundation is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Healy is the new executive director. Ms. Healy is also assistant vice president of Government and Community Relations. She has more than 20 years of government relations experience and has worked for The Doctors Company for more than eight years, relentlessly advocating for the practice of good medicine. She has a passion for charitable giving and serves on several nonprofit boards. “I look forward to supporting the ever-growing interest in patient safety education for healthcare professionals,” said Elizabeth Healy.
William C. Rupp, MD, is the new Foundation vice chairman. Dr. Rupp is the former chief executive officer of the Mayo Clinic in Florida and has 32 years of experience in the fields of hematology and medical oncology. He is also a member of The Doctors Company Board of Governors.
